The owner of Thornapple Insurance made the decision to slow down his professional career and focus his time on his family.  A deal was struck between Thornapple and Brouwers due to a similar culture, insurance company relationships, and focus on customer service.

Just like Thornapple, we are an independent insurance agency located in Grand Rapids, MI.  Here's a little bit of history:

• Founded over 30 years ago by Paul Brouwers Sr in Middleville, MI
• Paul's son Mike joined almost 20 years ago and is now the agency owner and relocated the agency to GR years ago
• We represent the same insurance companies that Thornapple did, including Wolverine, Auto-Owners, Citizens, Hastings, Pioneer, Progressive, Foremost, and many more
• We have a strong commitment to education and customer service

Yes!  But we are now sharing an office at 1925 Breton Rd SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49506.

Because of the expanded staff you might talk with someone new on the phone from time to time, but your policy information, deductibles, etc remain the same!

As with many business mergers, not every staff person made the transition. For a while you are likely to see Thornapple Insurance and The Brouwers Agency on your insurance documents, but eventually everything will say The Brouwers Agency. The reason for this is simply ease and continuity for our staff and clients.
