The longtime owner of JB Harrison looked to transition out of his agency in the spring of 2022.  A deal was struck between JBH and Brouwers due to a similar culture, insurance company relationships, and focus on customer service.

Just like JB Harrison, we are an independent insurance agency located in Grand Rapids, MI.  Here's a little bit of history:

• Founded over 30 years ago by Paul Brouwers Sr in Middleville, MI
• Paul's son Mike joined almost 20 years ago and is now the agency owner and relocated the agency to GR years ago
• We represent the same insurance companies that JB Harrison did, including Auto-Owners, Citizens, Hastings, Frankenmuth, Cincinnati, Pioneer, Progressive, Foremost, and many more
• We have a strong commitment to education and customer service

Yes!  There is still an office at 6661 Alden Nash Ave SE.  We are in the office three days a week and operate remotely two days per week. Please call 616-868-0050 before stopping out!

Because of the expanded staff you might talk with someone new on the phone from time to time, but your policy information, deductibles, etc remain the same!

Mike Murphy and the team are still with JB Harrison.  Unfortunately, Dan Urich passed away in 2022.  His accounts are still serviced by the staff here at the agency.

For a while you are likely to see JB Harrison Insurance and The Brouwers Agency on your insurance documents, but eventually everything will say The Brouwers Agency. The reason for this is simply ease and continuity for our staff and clients.
